7 days’ notice is required for cancellation and refund   of   a   confirmed   place   at   all  sessions.   No  refund  will  be  given  with  less  than 7 days’ notice -  this  also  applies  to  sickness.

If your child is absent from school and is due to attend The De La Salle After School Club, you must advise The Tamariki Club as soon as possible, either by phone, text or email.

Late Pick-Up Charge
Children must be collected latest by the end of your session, i.e. 5.30pm.  If a child is collected late and after their allocated session time, then a £20 late pick-up fee will be added to your account for that day to cover the extra costs incurred for 2 staff working overtime.

Medication
We are not able to administer any non-prescription medication including Calpol and Piriton.

In the event of a child requiring prescribed medication, parents must give written permission for it to be administered. You should be specific in terms of the name of the medication, dosage, frequency and storage. All medication must be in the original packaging and include the pharmacist’s/GP’s prescription label, this includes asthma inhalers.

Tax  Certificates
As The De La Salle After School Club is registered with the Childcare & Early Years Services (CEYS), we are able to provide tax certificates for child care fees paid during the year.  Please email to let us know if you require a tax certificate.

Personal  Property
All personal property is the participants’ responsibility, unless loss or damage is proven to be due to The Tamariki Club’s negligence. Expensive and/or treasured items should not be brought to  the club.

Meals  and  Snacks
During the Covid-19 pandemic period, The Tamariki Club will not be able to provide any snacks to the children, this is to reduce the risk of cross-contamination at this time. Parents should ensure that their child has an extra snacks for their time at the after school club. This will be reviewed as restrictions ease up for after school clubs.

Travel off Island during the Coronavirus Pandemic
If parents and/or children are travelling back into Jersey, you must make yourself aware of the current Government procedures with regards to testing and/or self-isolation.

Session  Changes  or  Cancellations by The Tamariki Club
The  Tamariki  Club  reserves  the  right  to  change  session  specifications wherever  necessary.  A  full  refund   will  be  provided  in  the  unlikely event  of  the  session  being  cancelled  by  The  Tamariki  Club.

Where there has been an official announcement of the closure of the school due to adverse weather conditions or any other reason other than the Coronavirus (e.g. school strikes), either by the Education Department, or by De La Salle Primary School itself, or any other authoritative body, The Tamariki Club will not be liable to reimburse fees for that particular session (or  sessions).

Session Changes – During the Coronavirus Pandemic
If the Government of Jersey, or any other relevant authoritative body, deem it necessary for any child attending to self-isolate due to Coronavirus (whether that is an individual, small group, or the entire club attendance), or the club is closed down due to ‘Stay at Home’ orders (‘lockdown’) or similar, then The Tamariki Club will not be liable for a refund of fees, or credit of fees to accounts, and will instead apply our usual minimum 7 days’ notice cancellation policy.

This means, that we will treat the required self-isolation of any children, or the forced closure of the club, with 7 days’ notice conditions on all relevant bookings, and parents will receive a credit to their account for any fees paid past the 7 days period.  This credit will be available to use for any future booking, either for the after school club or the holiday club; there will be no cash refunds issued as an alternative to the credit balance on your account.

Insurance
All participants are covered by Public Liability Insurance whilst at  the clubs, however The Tamariki Club cannot be held responsible for any act, omission or loss or damage unless proven to be caused specifically by the club’s negligence.

First  Aid
There  will  always  be  at  least  one  Certified  Appointed  First Aider  at  each  session.    In  the  event  of  an   accident,  first  aid  will  be  administered  to  participants  in  our  care  and,  if  necessary,  the  emergency   services  will  be  called.

Exclusion after Sickness
If your child is unwell at home with sickness and/or diarrhea, they should be kept at home for a minimum of 48 hours following the last episode of illness.  If they are sick and/or have diarrhea at the club, there must be a minimum period of 48 hours following the last episode before they return to the club.  We ask that your child must be well enough to eat a normal diet when they return.

Exclusion after Sickness – During the Coronavirus Pandemic
If your child shows symptoms of Coronavirus at home, do not bring them in to Tamariki.

If your child has been sent home from Tamariki with suspected symptoms of Coronavirus, then you must:

  • Book a PCR test for them straight away,
  • Continue to isolate if:
    • they have symptoms of Coronavirus,
    • they are waiting for a PCR result,
    • they have a positive Lateral Flow Test result,
    • they have a positive PCR Test result.

If your child’s PCR test is NEGATIVE, then you can return to Tamariki immediately.

If your child’s PCR test is POSITIVE, then they must be isolate at home for 5 days, and then after the 5 day period, then begin using Lateral Flow Tests.  Following 2 negative Lateral Flow Test results, 24 hours apart, and the submission of 2 negative Lateral Flow Test results online at gov.je/testing, your child can then return to Tamariki, provided they do not feel unwell or have a temperature.

Departure
Each  participant  will  be  signed  out  at  the  end  of  each  session, by a member of Tamariki staff at the check-out area.  Please make sure that your child has been signed out before you take them home.  Occasionally there can be a little bit of a wait at busy times, so it is important that the staff member have noted you are here and that your child is signed out correctly. We appreciate your patience at these busy times.

The waiting area for parents at pick up is outside of the building, no parents are allowed to enter the building.

Photography
During  sessions,  photographs  may  be  taken  of  participants  during  course  activities.  These  images  may   be  used  for  publicity  purposes  in  an  image,  on  video,  on  our  website,  in  printed  publications or on our Facebook page. If  you  do not wish your child’s image  to  be  used  please indicate on the booking form.

Equal  Opportunities
We consider language, behaviour or action that is designed to be offensive or creates discrimination to any user of the  clubs or member of staff, unacceptable and will not be tolerated. If any behaviour at the club is considered inappropriate, the offending pupil or pupils will be given a clear warning. If the behaviour persists, the child or children will be removed from the activity.

If a pupil continues to ignore the staff member and is considered to be affecting the equilibrium of the whole session, then a parent will be called and the pupil asked to leave, and/or will have to miss the next session they are due in.

The Tamariki Club has a clear behaviour policy that the staff follow to deal with any behaviour concerns.  This is a 3-step approach, which involves talking with the child to discuss what has happened, any safety concerns, and what is a more appropriate way of behaving in the particular situation.  This 3 step approach is easy for the children to understand, provides consistency across all staff and children, and is a positive approach where the child and staff member work together to improve the situation and provide some learning for the child.
